US animated series “Family Guy” new season opens up with a PSL joke

The famous animated series Family Guy released its 19^th season on September 27, 2020, with a surprise for Pakistani fans. Pakistan Super League is mentioned during the opening scene of the first episode, called Stewie’s First Word.

When the episode starts, Peter and the gang are quiet, the neighborhood bar wherein Quagmire expresses his frustration with the rush of foreign sports fans crowding the place every Saturday morning. He points at the two Pakistanis, who are the Lahore Qalandars supporters. Joe is the Karachi Kings fan however he covers his t-shirt and says “I am rooting for Karachi but I don’t have a death wish about it.”

This video went viral on twitter in a few hours, but some Pakistani fans are saying that this is not the actual accent of Lahore which is used in the episode. According to them, the way Lahori fans are shown talking in the episode is rather Indian than Pakistani.
