Islamabad zoo officials arranged a farewell party for Kavaan, the only elephant in Islamabad zoo

A couple of weeks ago, the Cambodian government sent the permit for Kavaan. They were willing to accept 45-years old Kavaan into their sanctuary. This Tuesday, Officials have arranged a farewell party for the lonely elephant before he sets off for a new life in Cambodia.

This is because animal rights advocates campaigned to rescue the lonely elephant in the Islamabad Zoo. Now, Kavaan is finally set to be airlifted on Sunday.

Officials and lawmakers, and the climate change minister also came to the party with balloons. They all were singing, “Farewell Kavaan, we will miss you.”

Kavaan is a fan of music and Amir Khalil. Amir Khalil is a veterinary doctor from an animal rescue organization. Marion Lombard said that it would never be easy to move a wild animal of 4.8 tons. Kavaan was well trained, and he is ready to leave.

Moreover, she said, “we will give the opportunity to people of Pakistan to say goodbye to Kavaan, before his new life in Cambodia. We want to wish him a happy retirement.”

At the start of the month, Jordanian Princess Alia has also adopted two brown bears from Islamabad zoo. She wanted to take care of the two Himalayan brown bears. Islamabad zoo officials have sent them to Jordan.
