Chapursan Valley – The Last Settlement of Pakistan in North

The beautiful Chapursan valley is located in the northern areas of Pakistan, West of Sost, and the last accommodation of the Karakorum Highway. Khunjerab Pass – The world’s highest border crossing is also near this valley. This valley is not too far from the Afghanistan border in the Wakhan Corridor. A few people know about this remote valley in Pakistan because of its remote location.

The Weather of Chapursan Valley

The Weather of the Chapursan depends on the seasons. It may vary after every 2 or 3 months, but the weather in the night mostly stay cold. At the beginning of July, greenery spread around in the valley, and the temperature remains normal in the day time. The autumn season clears the sky in September. If you go to the valley in the winter season, you will find the frozen water in the pipes.

Things to carry with you

When you plan for the trip to Chapursan, you must have the necessary things in your luggage. The area is rocky so you should have boots with you. The sunlight can harm your skin so you must have sunscreen for skin protection. In short, you must have the following things to keep you safe in the Chapursan.

  • Warm clothes
  • Mineral water
  • Sun Block
  • Trekking shoes

Transport in Chapursan

You cannot go to Chapursan directly in your car. If you go in your car there, even then you have to take a jeep from Sost Bazar to reach Chapursan. You can go to Chapursan in the private jeep as well as in Public transport. If you want to go to a private jeep, you can hire a driver with a jeep in Sost Bazar. The charges of one jeep are around 5000 rupees per day. If you want to go to Public transport, the cost will be 280 rupees per seat. The jeep leaves for Chapursan twice a day, around at 10 am and 2:30 pm.

Accommodation in Chapursan

As the Chapursan is far away from the populated area, the guesthouses are basic there. There is no electricity and poor mobile network. One faces a lot of problems connecting calls. There are very few shops. One should enjoy the beauty of Chapursan rather than to have luxury accommodation.

Things to do in Chapursan 

There are a lot of things to do in the valley. The sceneries and small lakes are charming. You can swim in the lakes if the weather is warm enough. You will also get a chance for trekking there. Trekking opportunities are endless there. There are treks of different lengths, starting from the overnight hike to 10-12 day mountains passing.
