Former finance minister Ishaq Dar’s interview to BBC about his assets

Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar are living in London with their families. They are not coming back to Pakistan. Yesterday, Ishaq Dar appeared on BBC Hardtalk. The host Stephen Sucker asked Ishaq Dar about his assets and return to Pakistan.

Ishaq Dar was declared an absconder by the court. Ishaq Dar gave a 20-minute interview to BBC which was recorded in the United Kingdom. Sucker was forcing Dar to give answers about his properties and why he and Nawaz Sharif does not go to Pakistan.

Ishaq Dar replied, “It’s all declared in my tax returns. Everything is accounted for.” He further added, “I have my main residence in Pakistan which has been taken over by this regime. I haven’t got too many properties.” He also said his son has a villa in Dubai. He has been working for 17 years and independent of him.

The host further asked why you did not go to Pakistan. Dar said, “I am here for medical treatment for almost three years [as] my lawyers represent me in court.” Ishaq Dar said in frustration, ““What’s happening in Pakistan? Where are the human rights? What’s happening in NAB custody? Dozens of people have been killed.”

This interview has gone viral on social media in no time. Netizens shared hundreds of Tweets against Ishaq Dar. Many memes have been shared on social media about Ishaq Dar.
