Fairy Meadows – Adventurous Gateway To Nanga Parbat

Fairy meadows usually know as Gateway point to Nanga Parbat. There is only one road to Fairy Meadows, and it the 2nd most dangerous jeep track on the planet. The windy narrow gravel mountain road is used by locals! which leads to visitors from Raikhot bridge to the village of Tato, 6-7 persons at one time. After reaching Tato village, you still have a three- to four-hour hike from Tato before you can take in the beautiful views of Fairy Meadows & Nanga Parbat. But once you’re there, you’ll never want to leave!

Visitors to Fairy Meadows can find accommodation in small wooden cabins and have a beautiful night stays at Fairy meadows facing Nanga Parbat. You can also move towards Beyal Camp and View point of Nanga Parbat.

The other face of Nanga Parbat… Contrary to the much visited Fairy Meadows and Raikot face of Nanga Parbat, Diamir aka Diamoro (in local dialect) is much rugged, long and a raw trek. It takes a painstaking three days of a continuous trek to reach the south-western face of the mountain from where one can directly see the main summit standing at an altitude of 8,125m.

Nanga Parbat is a truly awe-inspiring spectacle. The south face is the largest in the world extending over four kilometres above base camp. To date there have only been five ascents from the south. Nanga Parbat means “Naked Mountain” in Hindi/Urdu and is with reference to the south face’s exposed rock buttresses.

Nanga Parbat has been summit in winters by Pakistan’s beloved mountaineer Ali Sadpara in 2016!
