TikTok has completely different rules for brands than competitors. That means brands have to create fun such as playful and amusing content while telling their story in order to get noticed. This is because the app is primarily built to target the younger audience. Bytedance created the app and patterned it from the app called Douyin, which the company initially launched in China in the year 2014. The same company initially released Musical.ly to the market but decided to rebrand it and combine its features to launch TikTok. 689 million TikTok users internationally (monthly) (official stats).
