In 2013 The Soch Band gave Interview To MediaRay, Following are the questions asked from Rabi and Adnan.
1. When did you first start singing?
[A]: I am into singing since my childhood but professionally I started singing in 2008 [R]: I guess I did sing when I was little boy, that must have been under the shower. Else naahh! I’m not a singer at all.
2. What did your family do to encourage you?
[A]: Encourage?? Hahaha, they never encouraged me at all. Like every parent, they wanted me to be an engineer or doctor. But now that my family sees my passion and love for music and are well aware of the fact that I have established myself, they are fine with it and support and praise me [R]: They have been very supportive since the beginning because I was studying and doing music simultaneously and they always appreciated that.
3. Who else in your family sings?
[R]: I’m the tradition breaker. No one has ever sung or ever thought of music a career to pursue seriously for a living. [A]: I, Myself and Me … hahaha …
4. Who are your musical inspirations?
[R]: Junoon, John Mayer, Pink Floyd [A]: Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab, Sonu Nigam, Rabbi Shergill
5. What kind of music do you listen to today?
[R]: I listen to almost every kind of music because it’s the best way of learning.
[A]: I am more into eastern music but soulful music always treats for my ears
6. What embarrassing songs might I find on your MP3 player?
[R]: I doubt there is any tune in my ipod that I would want to call or label as embarrassing. Though for some, who have shuffled tunes on my ipod sfind my Kumar Sanu collection silly.
[A]: ummmmmmm …. You might come across ‘Eye to Eye’
7. Where would you most like to perform?
[R]: Everywhere performing live is the best thing about music. [A]: Everywhere in the world.
8. Who would you most like to open for?
[R]: Junoon for sure [A]: Hmmm, let’s see, we have done openings for Call, Atif Aslam, Noorie, Roxen, Shiraz Uppal, Strings in Pakistan. I would love to do an opening for Kailash Kher though.
9. If you weren’t singing, what would you be doing?
[R]: Belonging to a business minded family, and already having my father, cousins, and uncles into business and owning factories, I would have definitely been in the same field then [A]: I actually started my career with acting so yes acting would be the best option
10. What genre of music can’t you stand to listen to?
[A]: Metal … no offense [R]: ummmmmmm I can digest every genre depending on my mood
11. What hidden talents do you have?
[A]: I think that I can act and dance [R]: I can sleep for 20 hours hahaha
12. Do you enjoy writing music and/or lyrics?
[A]: Yes, I love doing music and writing lyrics. Infact Rabi and I write lyrics of our songs ourselves. And Yes we LOVE doing it! [R]: Oh yes when your passion becomes your profession it’s the best feeling in the world
