The Culture Of Balochistan Is Still Alive In Modern Days

The Baloch culture is full of traditions, crafts and arts. Though Balochistan is an area of barren lands, The Balochistan embroidery cloths is one of the most popular crafts and arts which are done by the females. Every years Baluchistan is also known for its tribes and festivals. Poets and story tellers are highly respected in Baloch culture.
They have many of language but Baloch tribe speak Balochi language. Balochi language is an ancient language. Its roots are traced back to Iranian branch of Indo-European family. It bears a resemblance to languages such as Sanskrit, Avastin, Old Persian and Pahlavi, which are now said to be dead languages. This tribe is further divided in to Rind. Bugti Lashar, Magsi, Jamot, Marri, Ahmedzai, domki, Dashti Umrani, Nosherwani, Sanjarani Gichki, Khidai

Marriage

Usually the marriages are done in young ages (teenage) but are arranged in early childhood or at birth. Marriages are different and unique in Baloch culture compared to other provinces of the country. According to Islamic principles, the marriage is performed in the presence of a Maulana and witnesses. Every member of the family and friends takes part in the marriage. They express their happiness and joy by following the traditions of their culture.
Divorce rate is very low in the Baluchistan as compared to the other provinces of Pakistan because they consider is a matter of disrespect for the family and honor of the tribe.

Dressings Culture

Blochi men along with wide loose shalwar along with knee-long shirts and modifications are worn in Baloch culture. Females dress consists of a shirt having a big pocket and embroidery and embedded round mirror work in front. A big Dupatta/ Cheddar is taken to cover the head and shoulders.

Music and Festival’s

Balochistan culture is full of many social festivals like a Sibi Meela which includes cultural dances, folk music performances, handicraft stalls, cattle shows and many other. Balochi culture is rich in folk music dances and songs and other dances include the Lewa, Latti and Hambo.

”Sajji’‘ is a most favorite dish of Balochi, Wheat, millet, Milk, butter, vegetables and rice are part of the Baloch meal.
