Baseball and many other sports are not familiar in Pakistan. Though, recently Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) has decided to promote Baseball in Pakistan. For this purpose, PFB has taken many steps.
There is an upcoming inter-district Baseball championship in Skardu. World Baseball Softball Confederation (WSBC) announced this Saturday that Skardu would become the highest Baseball field in the World after this competition. The matches will be played on 31st October, 3rd, and 4th November. The games will be among four teams in Gilgit.

Before this, Denver (Colorado) is the highest Baseball playing point at 5130 feet, and now Skardu will be the highest point of playing Baseball at 7310 feet.
PFB president Syed Fakhar Ali Shah attended the conference of the Sports Journalists Association of Lahore (SJAL) on Friday. He said that it would not be easy to play matches in that area due to the cold weather. PFB has arranged special kits for the players to face all the challenges of the harsh weather.
He further added,” they are making all the arrangements without taking the help from the government. We are hoping that different governments and private sectors will help us to promote sports in our country. They are busy contacting the government to help them in this campaign. They will come soon to help us out for this national cause.”
Syed Fakhar also revealed that next month, they would make a Baseball Academy in Gilgit. PFB has its Baseball academies in Okara, Multan, and some other places in Pakistan. He said that if the Pakistani government supports us, we will manage a series against Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Egypt. They have shown interest in visiting Pakistan.
