Multan Is Pakistan’s 7th Largest Cultural And Historical City

7th largest Multan city in Pakistan and is the major cultural and economic center of southern Punjab. Multan city capital of Multan Division located in Punjab. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, a large number of Hindu and Sikh minorities migrated to India, while some Muslim refugees from the Independent Republic of India settled in the city. The ancient city of Multan was the site of the famous Sun Temple. Later, during the Malian campaign, Alexander the Great captured it and Multan is the third most populous city of Pakistan and it’s the oldest ancient city embodied in the traditional values and Sufism.

The most famous multani food are dessert Multani ”Hafiz sohan halwa”, multani gol guppay, ”Qamar nihari” in Saddar, Multani pulao ”Babar Pulao Shop,” in nawa saher ”Swat chapli kebab and barbeque”, Multani Tawa chicken ”Kotla Polay Khan”and grilled smoky flavor.

Chaunsa (Mango) is the best gift from Multan, It produces three-fourths of the world’s mangoes.

Sufism

In the 11th / 12th century, the city was attracted by a large number of Sufi saints. Hazrat Shah Rukn-E-Alam, Shahi Eid Gah Mosque, Ghanta Ghar, Shrine of Bahauddin Zakariya, Tomb of Shah Rukn-e-Alam, Shrine of Shamsuddin Sabzwari, Blue-tiled tomb of Shah Gardez.
