Fredrik is a famous mountaineer of Sweden and he has been on many mountains. He traveled to Pakistan this year and according to him its not always hot in mountains like K2.

The one time I bring an umbrella, when walking in to K2 BC 🙂 Too often people think that 8000 m climbing is all about cold. Well, if your there in the summer, heat is your primary concern and an umbrella have saved me from the excruciating heat more than once!
This is what he says about having an umbrella during K2 Basecamp trek in summer season.
The only rule I have: make sure your umbrella comes in happy colors! And right now I’m sending happy colors to my dear grandma.
Remember K2 is world’s second highest mountain & its the only mountain which has not summit bid in winter season yet
