Halima Sultan shames CCPO Lahore for victim-blaming in the motorway incident.

In a rather embarrassing moment for Punjab police, Esra Bilgic who played Halima Sultan in the famous Turkish series named Ertuğrul has called out CCPO Lahore for his absurd comments on the motorway incident.

Halima Sultan took to Instagram and shared the comments of CCPO Lahore. Sharing a story on Instagram she said, “Women can drive alone or with their children. The only thing you need to do is to provide security.”

Further, she said, “You’re okay with gangs’ presence on your roads as a POLICE OFFICER? You think that if a woman chooses those roads to drive, there is a right to RAPE and KILL them?”

“You’re displaying a shocking ignorance on this matter,” said Esra. “Before you advise, you should change your thoughts. It seems impossible. What a shame on you and people like you.”

According to reports, the victim left his home with two children in Lahore. She was driving at night when she ran out of fuel at around 1:30am. She called on the motorway helpline where she was denied the help. Later, she called on his brother. Before he could arrive, two men gang-raped her in nearby fields in front of her children and also looted her belongings.

Talking to the media, the CCPO Lahore said that the victim should have had taken another road to travel. He further blamed the woman for not checking the fuel before starting her journey. He later apologized to the woman and the whole nation for his preposterous comments.

Indeed, Esra replied to the CCPO befittingly.
