Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Sunday has inaugurated the android-based Punjab Tourism app during the international observances of the World Tourism Day.
This app contains information about 511 tourism spots in Punjab. It has a main menu in which you can choose the city where you want to visit. There are 36 cities included in this app. The app has everything categorized in a good manner. One can search for hotels, restaurants, historical places, recreational places, and many other places.
When one opens the app, there are three main menus on the home page. First is the destination, One can click it and search the place where he wants to go. The second one is a nearby attraction, one must give the application permission to access the device location and the app then can find nearby places under the desired radius through this menu. The third one is a general search, it will give one the famous spots according to the device location.
DTS (Department of Tourist Services) system app is introduced for the tour operators where they can make online registration. The chief minister directed concerned authorities to add facility of online payments.
Some features are currently under development in this app. The tour guide and travel agency menu are under development. It will be available soon and the app will be beneficial for the tourists as well as in the tour operators.
