How Brilliant Mind Generates Great Ideas

Since creativity really includes a variety of distinct brain functions, research is still not able to pinpoint exactly what happens in our brains throughout this process. Contrary to popular assumption, it also involves both of our brains cooperating, as opposed to simply one or the other.

In actuality, our cerebral hemispheres are linked. Simply put, the two halves of our brains differ in how they interpret information.

It’s a myth that I’ve already disproved that people can be either “right brain thinkers” or left brain thinkers.

“This popular belief has its roots in some 1960s study on patients who had their call callouses the band of brain fibers that connects the hemispheres cut as a last-ditch insanity treatment. This stopped the brains from naturally communicating with one another, allowing researchers to study how each hemisphere operated separately”.

There are some ways to generates great ideas:

1. Organize observational sessions

No one comes up with great ideas in a vacuum. You must find a technique to train your mind to think ingeniously and creatively. Set aside time for designated sessions that will help you train your brain to think differently. Being from New York, people watching is my preferred strategy. My mind is opened to amazing activity and behavior by a simple stroll across Manhattan. The same can be done in any large urban place, mall, or zoo.

2. Breaking Out of Old Thought Patterns

We are all subject to confirmation bias and might become mired in particular “tracks” of thought. It’s possible that these concepts are so familiar to us that we aren’t even aware of how much they limit us. Therefore, in order to generate original thoughts, we must diverge from preexisting cognitive processes and begin to perceive new directions.

3. Get Social Outside of Your Regular Circles

Spending too much time with the same friends and coworkers can make you stagnate in your thinking. Utilize your LinkedIn connections to initiate some fascinating conversations. You’ll need to go over your previous internal dialogues because new folks won’t be familiar with all of your thought patterns and prior experiences. The novel viewpoints will stimulate fresh ideas and perhaps even a few lightning strikes.

4. Creating New Relationships

5. Study More Books

Books are excellent for generating fresh ideas and thinking. I didn’t read much for a very long time. I was able to learn more and broaden my thinking when I started incorporating business literature into my daily practice. But a few years ago, I picked up reading fiction and history once more. These tales definitely jolted me out of my routine and sparked my imagination. Even if you don’t have time for a novel, spend an hour browsing in a bookshop. There is a lot of thought stimulation available.

6. Utilize structured training

Structure fosters innovation. Simple mental exercises can train your brain to focus in a way that generates brilliant thoughts. My favorite quotation is from Dr. Blaine McCormick, a professor at Baylor University and author. Take ten minutes (timed) with a partner to generate 42 ideas on a certain issue or topic. You might only consider 30 or 35, but it doesn’t matter. There are at least two or three jewels on the list, as you’ll discover.

All of these techniques demand a time and energy investment, but that’s the secret to producing brilliant ideas. You must allow your brain the time and space it needs to function well. You will undoubtedly generate at least one truly brilliant idea if you try each of these techniques.
