If you’re torn between a traditional pasta salad and a cucumber salad, this Benedictine pasta salad is the answer. As a result, it’s guaranteed to please everyone who tries it.
Mini farfalle pasta is used in this salad (bowties). There isn’t a generic or store brand that has that, so if you want to use it, you’ll have to buy a major brand name product instead. Regular bow ties may be too large for this dish, which calls for small pasta. Small shells, ditalini or spirals work well in their place if you can’t find mini bowties!
Cucumbers contain a lot of water, so avoid using anything with a large tubular shape. Cucumbers will still release water even after they have been seeded.
Delicious Dressing
This outfit has the potential to steal the show. It pairs well with other salads thanks to its delicious, fresh flavour.
Regarding the mint and hot sauce, the dressing is neither spicy nor savoury. Just as a dash of chilli powder enhances the flavour of chocolate, so does the hot sauce. The mint, on the other hand, does the same. You can’t really taste it, but omitting it from the dressing would leave something out.
The Additional Instruments
This recipe calls for “seedless” cucumbers, which are those that have had their seeds removed. “European” or “English” cucumbers are common names for these vegetables. There is pulp in the centre, even though they claim to be seedless. The salad will be ruined if too much water seeps out. Since I didn’t want to remove my skin in order to achieve a bright colour, I opted for a different type of wax. Cucumbers pickled in vinegar or Kirby sauce are also excellent options. They’re sturdy and unwaxed, but the skin is a tad on the hard side.
